Mellonby & Wheelhouse Conquer Bourges

This weeks Yorkshire middle route Combine race should have been from Bourges but due to bad weather the birds were brought back to Eastbourne on the 14TH of July 2014 was liberated in a light North West wind and Topping the Combine and the South Section is Kerry Mellonby and Ricky Wheelhouse of Bridlington on 1389. Topping the North Section is Mr & Mrs Hotham of Filey on 1377. Topping the Central Section is J & A Barmby of Hunmanby on 1358. Topping the West Section is Mick Burdett of Norton on 1355. Well done everyone

 

Coastal South Section:

Bridlington D.F.C. 6 members sent 34 birds with the red card going to Kerry Mellonby & Rick Wheelhouse on 1389 with a Hardy Kruger hen which scored at Jouy le Chatel and Clermont. Second place went to Kerry Mellonby & Rick Wheelhouse on 1389 with a Gerrerinckx hen. Third place went to Kerry Mellonby & Rick Wheelhouse on 1386 with a Gaston Van de Wouwer which has had 2 x 1sts. Fourth place went to Kerry Mellonby & Rick Wheelhouse yet again on 1364 with a multi prize winning Hardy Kruger.

Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 4 members sent 35 birds with the red card going to G. H. Sparkes on 1374 with a Premier Stud Rauwe Sablon roundabout hen which has had 3 Combine prizes including 14th Jouy Chatel this year. Second Third and Fourth places went to G. H. Sparkes on 1332, 1332 and 1327 with three Premier Stud roundabout Hardy Krugers.

Flamborough Homing Society. 3 members sent birds with the red card going to Mick Holdsworth on 1266 with a self bred cock. Second place went to John Kemp on 1260 with a hen which won the Bourge race last year. Third place went to John Kemp on 1242 with a gift bird off M. Pinkney. Fourth place went to Mike Farnell on 1221 with a Verheye cock. John wins the nom.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 5 members sent 26 birds with the red card going to Phil and June Edmond on 1356 with a Hereman Ceuster. Second place went to Gavin Leahy on 1330 with a Vandenabeele. Third place went to Phil and June Edmond on 1318 with a Janssen. Fourth place went to Phil and June Edmond on 1315 with a Hereman Ceuster.

Withernsea Homing Society. 8 members sent 20 birds with the red card and Third place going to Trevor Robinson on 1342 and 1273 with his long distance national birds. Second place went to Dave Beadle on 1294 with a Premier Stud pigeon. Fourth place went to Dean Adamson on 1254 with one of his distance birds. 

Coastal North Section:

Scarborough Social Club. 4 members sent 19 birds with the red card going to Pete Thorpe on 1358 with a Lefebre Dhaenen x Premier Stud Koopman hen which was brought back from being nearly dead. Second place went to Terry & Paul Douthwaite on 1334 with an Arien Vereckt multi prize winner. Third place went to Pete Thorpe on 1314 with a Lefebre Dhaenen x Reynaert. Fourth place went again to Pete Thorpe on 1311 with a Lefebre Dhaenen x Premier Stud Koopman. 

Whitby Premier Club. 6 members sent 11 birds with the red card and Fourth place going to Alan Richardson on 1288 and 1234 no details. Second place went to B, Smithson on 1258 no details. Third place went to Winspear & Cowey on 1248 no details.   

Hunmanby Homing Society. 3 members sent 11 birds with the first four places going to J & A Barmby on 1358, 1311, 1296 and 1287. no details given.  

Filey Homing Society. 2 members sent 13 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1377 with one off Jacob Poorvliet x Louis Thijs stock. Second place went to Colin Smith on 1352 with a Vandenabeele widowhood cock. Third place went to Colin Smith on 1327 with a Bryan Maude pigeon which was 1st Clermont. Fourth place went again to Colin Smith on 1326 with a pigeon that was 2nd Bourges last year.

Central Section:

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 6 members sent 17 birds with the red card going to Franciosy & Bennett on 1347 with a Mathews x Janssen hen which has had a 4th Clermont and a 5th Jouy le Chatel. Second place went to Petherbridge & Coates on 1340 with a Goosen hen. Third place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1334 withy a Flor Engels hen which topped the Combine as a young bird. Fourth place went yet again to Franciosy & Bennett on 1321 with a Paul Gorog Leo Van Rijn hen which has 3 x 1st to its name. 

Hull Millennium Club. 5 members sent 14 birds with the red card and Second and Fourth places all going to A. Stone and Son on 1336, 1317 and 1249 with their family of roundabout Janssens. Third place went to K & H Green on 1288 with one of his Ark Family. 

Cottingham Homing Society. 4 members sent 19 with the red card and Third and Fourth places going to Kev Kingston & Family on 1311 and 1242 and 1240 all with his Basket breed. Second place went to John & Margaret Rawson on 1302 with a Clysdale x Radar.

Driffield Homing Society. 4 members sent 26 birds with the red card going to Pete Dixon on 1352 with a Staff Van Reet x Busschaert off the late Ray Bell stock. Second place went to Sam Jackson on 1352 with a Soontjen x Hereman Ceuster. Third place went to Pete Dixon on 1344 with a Late Derek Stevenson Cattrysse. Fourth place went again to Pete Dixon on 1326 with a Late Ray Bell Busschaert x Vandenabeele. Pete also wins the pools.  

Kingston Flying Club. 2 members sent 8 birds with the red card and second place going to D P McCracken on 1303 and 1236 with his Wildemeersch ex North Road pigeons. 

Little Weighton Club. 3 members sent 18 birds with the red card going to Jacksons & Fletcher on 1301 with a 2yr old widowhood cock taking his 3rd red card of the season. Second place went to Bob Lonsdale on 1294 with a natural Delbar feeding a big youngster. Third place went to Bob Lonsdale on 1245 with a natural Delbar sitting ten days. Fourth place went to Jacksons & Fletcher on 1236 winning the beer nom. 

West Section  

Norton I. Flying Club. 6 members sent 16 birds with the red card going to Mick Burdett on 1355 with a Leemputten x Paul Stubbs Soontjen which has had a 1st and 2nd Huntingdon and a 6th combine as a young bird good day for mick scooping the pools and pontood £100. Second place went to R. Mort on 1286 with a Mick Burdett Leemputten. Third place went to B Dawson on 1286 with a self bred Janssen. Fourth place went to Mick Burdett on 1285 with a Andra Drappa. 

Pocklington H. Society. 3 members sent 12 birds with the red card going to P., Young on 1259 with a Ken Hyne. Second place went to G W Atkinson on 1220 with a Jan Aarden. Third place went to P. Young on 1220 with a Van Reet. Fourth place went to P. Young again on 1205 with a Ken Hyne.

Eastrington P. F. C. 7 members sent 18 birds with the red card and Fourth place going to Winnie & Tom Hagston on 1336 and 1261 with a Mike Kirby Thorsten Daum x Pete Beadle Soontjen winning the Walker Kennedy two average trophy and the £1 nom winning its 3rd first place. Second place went to Steve Neale on 1313 with a consistent R & B Smith widowhood cock. Third place went to Wardle and Hayward on 1292 with a Planet bros Janssen via Alan Beevers which won the meat nom.

Fourth place went to S. Lockwood on 1291 with an A. T. Tomlinson yearling.
