Gavin Leahy leads the hunt from Huntingdon

This weeks Yorkshire middle route Combine race from Huntingdon on the 5th of July 2014 was liberated in a Westerly wind and Topping the Combine and the South Section is Gavin Leahy of Hornsea on 1470. Topping the North Section is Mr & Mrs Hotham of Filey on 1433 Topping the Central Section is Duffin & Beasley of Hull on 1428 Topping the West Section is M. Hodgson of Norton on 1386  Well done everyone.                                                                                                                          I would like to apologise to the North and West Section on the Jouy le chattel report due to a misprint it should have read West Section Barry & Chris Mason of York on 1268 and North Section T & P Douthwaite of Scarborough on 1244

Coastal South Section:

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 8 members sent 78 birds with the red card and the next three positions all going to Gavin Leahy on 1470, 1463, 1458 and 1457 all with his family of prize winning Vandenabeeles.  

Bridlington D.F.C. 10 members sent 118 birds with the red card going to Bernard Gray on 1441 with a multi prize winning Bolton & Williamson Van Loon which had a 1st at Billericay. Second place went to John and Linda Chadwick on 1440 with a Hereman Ceuster which has had a 1st at Billericay. Third place went to Bernard Gray on 1428 with a Bolton & Williamson Van Loon. Fourth place went to John and Linda Chadwick on 1421 with a Hereman Ceuster x Van Dyke hen which has also scored before. 

Flamborough Homing Society. 3 members sent 21 birds with the red card going to Mike Farnell on 1262 with a Kirkpatrick x Verheye cock also winning the nom. Second place went to Mick Holdsworth on 1260 with a self bred cock. Third place went to John Kemp on 1235 with a self bred cock.                                                                                             Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 8 members sent 184 birds with the red card going to G. H. Sparkes on 1460 with a Premier Stud Albert Derwa roundabout hen which has had a 1st Combine Huntingdon this year. Second place went to Derek Nicholls on 1457 with a Geeks widowhood cock. Third place went to Reg Wright on 1455 with a Janssen x Van Loon which has had a 2nd Bovingdon, 3rd and 6th Huntingdon and a 6th Newark. Fourth place went to G. H. Sparkes on 1455 with a Premier Stud widowhood cock.                                                                                                                  Withernsea Homing Society. 7 members sent 63 birds with the red card going to Dave Beadle on 1389 with a Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster which has won several races. Second place went to Dave Beadle on 1389 with a Premier Stud Albert Derwa. Third place went to Dean Adamson on 1361 with a Vandenabeele. Fourth place went again to Dave Beadle on 1356 with a Premier Stud Albert Derwa.

Coastal North Section:

Filey Homing Society. 4 members sent 46 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1433 with a multi winning hen bred by Marina Van De Velde and has flown outstandingly. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1431 with one bred from our Poortvliet stock. Third place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1430 with a S & S Trattles Loftus bred from Marina Van de Velde stock. Fourth place went to Colin Smith on 1427 with a widowhood cock which had a 1st Combine last year.

Hunmanby Homing Society. 6 members sent 76 birds with the red card going to Tony Robson on 1419 with a Marina Van de Velde. Second place went to Tony Robson on 1407 with a Marina Van de Velde. Third place went to Tony Robson on 1402 with a Marina Van de Velde which has had 3 x 1st prizes this year. Fourth place went to Tony Robson on 1401 with a Marina Van de Velde.

Scarborough Social Club. 7 members sent 102 birds with the red card going to Derek Howard and Paddy Johnson on 1400 with a Keith Arkless pigeon. Second place went to Pete Thorpe on 1396 with a 2yr old Vandenabeele x Lefebre Dhanen which has had many cards and was hawked at Battle had a month off and restarted. Third place went to Terry & Paul Douthwaite on 1396 with an Arien Vereckt which has had  a 3rd Billericay and 2 x 2nds Huntingdon. Fourth place went to Pete Thorpe on 1390 with a yearling Le Febre Dhanen x Busschaert which was his best young bird last year. This pigeon was hawked this year had a big hole in wing and chest but has still been his most consistent to the loft. Both the birds are sitting ready for Bourges.  

Whitby Premier Club. 9 members sent 134 birds with the red card for the 7th time going to Alan Richardson on 1385 with a 2yr old Louis Thijs hen sitting 5 day eggs which has had a 4th Jouy Chatel, 3rd Clermont, 3rd Huntingdon, 4th Maidstone and 4th Billericay. Second place went to Brian Smithson on 1381 with a yearling Tom Sherwood of Sumerset Vandenabeele roundabout cock. Third place went to S. Mallinson on 1378 with a Louis Thijs Heremans Ceusters which has had a 2nd from Battle 3rd and 7th Billericay, and a 5th Maidstone. Fourth place went to Alan Richardson on 1365 with a 4yr old Louis Thijs hen sitting 2 day old eggs which has had a 1st Huntingdon 3rd Billericay and a 5th and 2 x 6ths from Clermont.  Alan wins the pools.                                                                                                                   Loftus Homing Society. 8 members sent 108 birds with the red card going to Ian Brown on 1315 with a 3yr old roundabout Alun Maul hen which is a previous winner 

Second place went to Ian Brown on 1315 with a yearling roundabout Van Steian hen scoring for first time. Third place went to S & S Trattles on 1297 with a yearling called Puffer Billy bred from Ian Vernons stock and is sitting eggs. Fourth place went to Ian Brown on 1285 with a 3yr old roundabout Van Steian cock which has had cards before. Ian also takes the Nom. 

Central Section:

Hull Millennium Club. 7 members sent 52 birds with the red card and Third place going to K & H Green on 1424 and 1368 with his Ark family, these pigeons were found in the corner of the loft hiding from all his racing and training. Second place went to A. Stone & Son on 1417 with one of his roundabout Janssens which also have a loft of training. Fourth place went to John Hall & Jackie Dearlove unfortunately no information this week as John is away in York on his Batchelor night out. 

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 10 members sent 92 birds with the red card going to Duffin & Beasley on 1428 with a George Rudd multi prize winning Hofken. Second place went to George Rudd on 1392 with a Marina Van de Velde which has won cards for the last 3 weeks. Third place went to B. Farrow on 1390 with a Mathews x Eijercamp which wins all the pools. Fourth place went to J. Knaggs on 1369 with a Janssen hen.

Cottingham Homing Society. 8 members sent 59 birds with the red card going to Graham Howman on 1422 with a De Klak Pau Janssen which has now had 3 x 1st and topped the section from Billericay. Second place went to John and Margaret Rawson on 1393 with a 3yr old Radar pigeon. Third place went to Kev Kingston and Family on 1375 with one of his Basket breed. Fourth place went to John and Margaret Rawson on 1342 with a yearling Clydsdale x Radar.

Driffield Homing Society. 11 members sent 138 birds with the red card going to Sam Jackson on 1432 with a Multi prize winning Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster which has now got 8 x 1sts. Second place went to Paul Woodmansey on 1421 with a Bob Mallinson Stoontjen x Gert Heylan which has had a 2nd this year. Third place went to Ken Gladstone on 1418 with a 5yr old multi prize winning Lindelauf. Fourth place went to Sam Jackson on 1417 with a multi Hereman Ceuster (Valiant) prize winner. K. Gladstone wins the pools.

North Hull Club. 5 members sent 40 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Crawford on 1396 with a Wildemeersch x Staff Van Reet which has had 3 x 1sts. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Crawford on 1395 with a Staff Van Reet which has had 3 x 2nds. Third place went to Mr & Mrs Crawford on 1389 with a Staff Van Reet which has had 2 x 3rds. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs Crawford yet again on 1373 with a Wildemeersch x Vandenabeele.

Kingston Flying Club. 6 members sent 69 birds with the red card and Second and Fourth places going to Gary Cox on 1422, 1418 and 1391 all with his multi prize winning Premier Stud Hereman Ceusters. Third place went to Donny McCracken on 1392 with a multi prize winning Wildemeersch. 

Sutton Flying Club. 1 members sent 5 birds which was Tommy Fairfield on 1387 and 1351.

Walton Priory Club. 5 members sent 39 birds with the red card going to Jamie Manuel on 1392 with a Gorog & Jude x J. Manuel yearling cock. Second place went to Jamie Manuel on 1392 with a self bred Busschaert x Soontjen. Third and Fourth place went yet again to Jamie Manuel on 1383 and 1382 with a pair of Gorog & Jude x Manuel yearlings all flown on the widowhood system.

West Section  

Eastrington P. F. C. 9 members sent 78 birds with the red card going to Wardle & Haward on 1374 with a Lefebre Dhaenen. Second and Third place went to Mr & Mrs Roy Brumby on 1361 and 1359 with a pair of Vandenabeeles and also winning the meat nom. Fourth place went to Steve Neale on 1337 with a Neal Ingers Hereman Ceuster x Van Loon also winning the £1nom.

Norton I. Flying Club. 8 members sent 100 birds with the red card going to M. Hodgson on 1386 with a Bob Mallinson Barberien Widowhood cock which has had a 2nd. Second place went to M. Hodgson on 1385 with a Jess Hotham Marina Van De Velde cock. Third place went to B. Ford & Sons on 1361 with a Hereman Ceuster which has had 2 x 1st this year. Fourth place went to B. Dawson on 1344 with a B. Kent of Kirbymoorside pigeon.

Kirbymoorside F. Club. 8 members sent 88 birds with the red card and Second place going to Gaden & Kent on 1284 & 1248 with a pair of G.W. Acey’s Robert Vinus pigeons. Third place went to D. Mason on 1238 with a A Tateson bird. Fourth place went to Dobson & Allen on 1219 no details.
