Sparkes fly in Yorshire Middle Route

This weeks Yorkshire middle route Combine race from Billericay on the 24TH of May 2014 was liberated in a South East wind and Topping the Combine and the South Section is Graham Sparkes of Patrington on 1938Topping the North Section is Matthew Hutchinson of Filey on 1933. Topping the Central Section is Craig Clark of Hull on 1895. Topping the West Section is Paul & June Battersby on 1839. Well done everyone

 

Coastal South Section:

Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 12 members sent 244 birds with the red card going to Graham Sparkes on 1938 with a Premier Stud multi prize winning Hereman Ceusters cock which has had a 2nd Combine Maidstone. Second place went to Graham Sparkes on 1938 with a Premier Stud multi prize winning Busua hen. Third place went to Reg Wright on 1912 with a Janssen x Van Loon also a multi card winner. Fourth place went Derek Nicholls on 1910 with a Premier Stud prize winning Hereman Ceusters hen which has also had a 1st section in the Combine.

Bridlington D.F.C. 11 members sent 223 birds with the red card going to Tony Ellis on 1932 with a Hofken. Second place went to Bernard Gray on 1915 with a Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster x Bolton & Williamson Van Loon. Third place went to Bernard Gray on 1914 with a Bolton & Williamson Van Loon. Fourth place went to Harry Smith on 1910 with one of his own breed. 

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 7 members sent 115 birds with the red card going to Phil & June Edmonds on 1936 with a Koopman. Second place went to Phil & June Edmonds on 1905 with a Hereman Ceuster x Wildemeersch. Third place went to Phil & June Edmonds on 1875 with a Vandenabeele. Fourth place went to Gavin Leahy on 1828 with a Vandenabeele. 

Withernsea Homing Society. 6 members sent 45 birds with the red card going to Alec & Margaret Dodson on 1786 with a Premier Stud x Delbar which scored at Huntingdon Alec would also like to thank you to Trevor Robinson for taking care of his birds for the day and the special treatment. Second place went to Dave Beadle on 1770. Third and Fourth place went to Dean Adamson on 1684 and 1683 no details  

Flamborough Homing Society. 4 members sent 46 birds with the red card going to Mike Farnell on 1769 with a Persoons cock. Second place went to Mick Holdsworth on 1669 with a Janssen cock. Third place went to Paul Lawson on 1593 with a Louella lofts. Fourth place went to John Kemp on 1534 with a De Vadder cross. Mick Holdsworth wins the nom.

 

Coastal North Section:

Filey Homing Society. 3 members sent 60 birds with the red card going to Matthew Hutchinson on 1933 with a self bred Jacob Poorvliet x Louis Thijs. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1876 with one of their Hubert Schroyns of Belgium stock which was 3rd club from Arras last week. Third place went to Matthew Hutchinson on 1840 with one bred by Grandad Jess Hotham of his Louis Thijs stock. Fourth place went to Colin Smith on 1838 with one of his Gaby Vandenabeeles stock. 

Hunmanby Homing Society. 6 members sent 80 birds with the red card going to Bob Bedford on 1910 with a 2yr old Frank Sheader Soontjen which has already had a 1st this year. Second Third and Fourth place went to Tony Robson on 1874, 1847 and 1774 with three of his Marina Van De Veldes.  

Scarborough Social Club. 7 members sent 127 birds with the red card going to Terry & Paul Douthwaite on 1875 with a Arien Vereckt which has had a 4th Bovingdon and 5th Billericay. Second place went to Pete Thorpe on 1839 with a Janssen which has had many cards. Third place went to Pete Thorpe on 1834 with a Dave Thompson Lindelauf which has had a few cards. Fourth place went to Pete Thorpe again on 1822 with a Janssen x Dave Thompson Lindelauf.

Whitby Premier Club. 6 members sent 120 birds with the red card going to S Mallinson & Son on 1846 with a 5yr old Barberien x Karel Boeckx cock which has a 1st Huntingdon a 2nd Peterborough 2 x 3rds 2 x 4th  and six minor cards to its name. Second place went to S. Mallinson & Son on 1846 with a 2yr old Soontjen x Gert Heylen cock which was 3rd Arras last week. Third and Fourth place went to James McCourt & Son Dale on 1759 with a pair of Keven Lawsons yearling roundabout cocks. A Richardson wins pools.

 

Central Section

Driffield Homing Society. 11 members sent 131 birds with the red card and Fourth place going to Sam Jackson on 1912 and 1808 with a pair of Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster. Second place went to Paul Woodmansey on 1869 with a Bob Mallinson yearling that had a 3rd club 3rd Section and 14th open from Billericay last year. Third place went to John Raines on 1830 no details. Pete Dixon wins the pools.

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 16 members sent 193 birds with the red card going to Jason Naggs on 1872 with a Pete Chapman Karel Boeckx hen. Second place went to P. C Carmichael on 1857 with a Dave Robinson yearling hen which took cards and a young bird. Third place went to P. C Carmichael on 1847 with a Bri Wade yearling hen which had a 1st and 2nd last year. Fourth place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1834 with a Marjick Vink cock.

Hull Millennium Club. 10 members sent 93 birds with the red card and Second place going to Alan Stone & Son on 1862 and 1862 with a pair of Janssens racing on the Natural system. Third place went to K & H Green on 1847 with one of his old Ark Family. Fourth place went to John Hall & Jackie Dearlove on 1842 with one bred at his new loft last year.

 

Cottingham Homing Society. 8 members sent 55 birds with the red card and Third place going to John & Margaret Rawson on 1860 and 1843 with a pair of yearling Clydsdales. Second place went to K. Kingston & Family on 1854 with his basket breed. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs D. Smith on 1836 with an Halterman.

 

North Hull Club. 5 members sent 50 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Crawford on 1833 with a Staf Van Reet which has had cards before. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Crawford on 1821 with a Wildemeersch which has had cards before. Third place went to Pete Mitchell on 1793 with a gift bird from up North. Fourth place went to S. O’Loughlin on 1632 with a P Hussy Jan Theelen gift bird. 

Kingston Flying Club. 7 members sent 75 birds with the red card going to C. Clark on 1895 with a multi prize winning Van Reet widowhood cock. Second place went to G. Cox on 1863 with a Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster. Third place went to G. Cox on 1858 with a Premier Stud Van Dyke. Fourth place went to P & A Burke on 1854 with a previous winner on the widowhood system.

Little Weighton Club. 6 members sent 48 birds with the red card for the second week going to Bob Lonsdale on 1778 with a Chris Gordon x J. L. Roberts yearling Delbar hen feeding two big youngsters this bird was not raced as a youngster. Second place went to Tony Walker on 1664 with a 3yr old Gary Cox Staf Van Reet which has had a red card every year for the last four. Third place went to Dennis Jackson & Arthur Fletcher on 1662 with a 2yr old which has been in the cards every week but one this year. Fourth place went to Dennis Jackson & Arthur Fletcher on 1656 with a 7 year old. Bob Lonsdale wins the beer nom.

 

Sutton Flying Club. 6 members sent 47 birds with the red card going to D & D Allen with a De Klak x Janssen cock which has done well on channel races and taken numerous cards. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Driscoll and son with a self bred Soontjen yearling hen. Third place went to George Charlotte with a Kirkpatrick self bred cock which has been consistent each week. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs Driscoll and son with a Nigel Laycock Lim Berg hen. 

Walton Priory Club. 4 members sent 57 birds with the red card going to Jamie Manual on 1847 with a self bred Janssen Henry Van Ruin 3yr old cock. Second place went to Jamie Manual on 1842 with a self bred yearling Busschaert cock. Third and Fourth place went again to Jamie Manual on 1818 and 1810 with a pair of self bred Hereman Ceusters yearling cocks.

 

West Section  

Eastrington P. F. C. 10 members sent 106 birds with the red card going to A. Beevers on 1759 with a Flor Engels bred by his good friend Arthur from Cudworth. Second place went to Wardle & Hayward on 1755 with a Lefebre Dhaenen. Third place went to Mr & Mrs Brumby on 1747 with a Vandenabeele widowhood cock. Fourth place went to Winnie Hagston & Son Tom on 1736 with an Eric Limborg De Rauw Sablon x De Klak. Alan Holtby won the meat nom and £1 nom. 

Norton I. Flying Club. 11 members sent 170 birds with the red card going to R. Mort on 1829 with a Bob Thorpe Leemputten hen. Second place went to B Ford & Sons on 1824 with a 2yr old Janssen x Van Winkel which was 2nd from Arras. Third place B Ford & Sons on 1824 with a yearling Dave Page Janssen. Fourth place went to B Ford & Sons on 1824 with a 2yr old Cor Leitjen which has scored in the last 3 races.

Pocklington H. Society. 7 members sent 113 birds with the red card going to G. W. Acey on 1834 with a Hofken x Hereman Ceuster. Second place went to D. Carlton & Sons on 1774 with a Janssen. Third place went to I. Waggott & Grandson on 1745 with a Van Loon cross. Fourth place went to G. W. Atkinson 1739 with a Vanderhee x Van Hove.

Goole L.M.S.H.S. 8 members sent 105 birds with the red card going to Paul & June Battersby on 1839 with a self bred 4yr old cock out of the racing loft. Second place went to E. Coolledge on 1818 with a yearling self bred Vandenabeele. Third place went to Stan Lockwood on 1815 with a 3yr old self bred Janssen x J & A x Steve Foster cock. Fourth place went to Paul & June Battersby on 1811 a self bred 4yr old Vandenabeele cock.

Kirbymoorside F. Club. 8 members sent 88 birds with the red card going to Gaden & Kent on 1789 with a Devada which had cards on the North. Second place went to D. Mason on 1666 with a Willy Thas cock. Third place went to A. Tateson on 1660 with a bird that has had cards on the North.  Fourth place went to Dodson & Allen on 1649.
